Hey folks! This is issue #5 of the browsertech digest.
Between operating Drifting in Space, running Browsertech events, and writing this newsletter, I have a lot of exposure to people building ambitious apps that run in the browser.
In the early days, I kept a mental list of products to keep track of, but it quickly outgrew my brain and I had to start making notes.
It occurred to me that readers of this newsletter might also benefit from my list, so I’d like to introduce the Browsertech Index: a list of the products that I think of as pushing the limits of what’s possible in the browser.
We’ve finally gotten around to organizing another Browsertech event in NYC! The event will be Wednesday, December 7th, at 6:30 in SoHo. Details and RSVP are here.
I’m excited to announce that we’ll have Yining Shi from Runway as a speaker. I’ll also be giving a talk myself on Plane, and we hope to have some GPU streaming ready to demo as well.
Last week, I wrote about Mighty’s shutdown. Here’s a good retrospective from a Mighty engineer on the bigger mission Mighty was going after and why it didn’t work out.
Until next time,
Paul
